Authors' objectives:
Debridement using hydrosurgery system is a procedure for debridement in the area of injury, and cleansing and absorbing the incised tissues in patients with subacuteand chronic gashing wound, dead tissues or burn. Assessment was made on this procedure to determine whether it is a safe and effective new health technology.
Authors' recommendations:
Although debridement using hydrosurgery system applied to patients with subacute and chronic gashing wound, dead tissues or burn is a technology with safety level similar to the existing debridement, the Sub-committee assessed it as a research stage technology that need further clinical researches in terms of its effectiveness due to insufficient grounds other than reduction in the time take for surgery at special areas of body (recommendation rating of B, research stage technology classification of II-b).
