Stem cell implantation for spinal cord injury

Record ID 32010000981
English
Authors' objectives:

In the United States, there are approximately 10,000 new cases of spinal cord injury each year, primarily due to motor vehicle accidents, violence, falls, or sports injuries. Damage to the nerves that connect the brain to muscles and skin often results in paralysis and loss of sensation. The extent of these losses depends on where the spinal cord is damaged and how extensive the damage is at that site.
