Behavior therapy (BT) for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was developed as a way to increase desirable behaviors and reduce or eliminate the undesirable behaviors and tendencies associated with ADHD, including disruptive behavior, poor social skills, poor academic performance, and impaired executive functioning. BT includes the teaching of inhibition, planning skills, time management, and task management skills.
