Authors' objectives:

Computer-assisted cognitive-behavioral treatment (CCBT) generally consists of cognitive restructuring techniques in the form of self-guided interactive tutorials via computer interface. The CCBT sessions are delivered either on-site (e.g., at a treatment facility or primary care setting) or via the Internet. Some CCBT programs include support from a mental health provider by telephone or e-mail. CCBT is used to treat patients with clinical depression and/or dysthymia with the goal of improving overall health outcomes.
