English
Authors' objectives:

Approximately 1% of all patients admitted to hospitals have acute kidney failure, which is also referred to as acute renal failure and acute kidney injury. It is estimated that another 2% to 5% of patients develop this disorder during hospitalization. Despite the availability of drug and dialysis therapies, 40% to 50% of hospitalized patients who have acute renal failure die.
