Original Title: Observación de tecnologías sanitarias después de su introducción en la práctica clínica. Priorización y propuesta de protocolo de evaluación
Authors' objectives: Two main objectives were considered: 1) to assess the performance of the PriTec tool in terms of prioritising technologies that would be relevant to observe; and 2) to draw up a protocol proposal for the observation of a technology recently introduced into the service portfolio.
Authors' recommendations: The prioritisation tool is regarded as being a simple, useful and relevant. We feel that, once it has been improved and adapted to the different contexts, it could be fundamental for helping make recommendations in assessment reports or being used by decision-makers as a starting point for discussing the relevancy of conducting a post-introduction study. This study presents the first protocol proposal to verify the global outcomes derived from the introduction of health technologies into clinical practice. It is essential that the current protocol be refined so that it does not solely serve as an example but can be used by different centres that apply this technology in order to obtain a standardised registry with relevant results that can be assessed and compared.
