Authors' objectives:
To compare the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of low-dose ultrasound delivered in conjunction with standard care against standard care alone in the treatment of hard-to-heal venous ulcers.
Authors' recommendations:
Study found no additional clinical benefit from low dose ultrasound weekly for hard-to-heal venous leg ulcers, though costs were greater and adverse events more frequent.
