Authors' recommendations:
Study suggests that sibling donor allogeneic stem cell transplantation may be more effective than chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukaemia in adults and children in first complete remission and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in adults in first complete remission, and that autologous stem cell transplantation offers no benefit over chemotherapy.
