Authors' recommendations: In spite of a high mortality risk, and uncertain longā€term prognosis, transcatheter aortic valve implantation is a feasible procedure that clearly gives survivors symptomatic relief and probably causes some overall extension of life . It can be carried out at the MUHC at a net cost of approximately $24,024 per patient. The budget impact of the anticipated 30 patients per year would be approximately $720,719
