Authors' objectives:

This study aims to define the possible immunization strategies for Streptococcus pneumoniae in Quebec, and to analyse their costs and benefits for specific target groups.

Authors' recommendations: Despite differences according to target groups, the results of the study are in support of instituting a pneumococcal immunization program. Furthermore, the group-purchase scenario is more advantageous than the individual purchase scenario because of the savings achieved through the bulk purchase of vaccine and the level of vaccine coverage obtained.
Authors' methods: Cost study
