Authors' recommendations:
Study found that it was not possible to draw conclusions on the clinical effectiveness of non-occupational PEP for HIV because of the limited evidence available but that, using evidence on effectiveness taken from the use of PEP in the occupational setting, non-occupational PEP for HIV may be cost-effective, especially in certain population subgroups.
