English
Authors' results and conclusions: The Smartinhaler combined with an audiovisual reminder system appears to be an effective method of increasing patient adherence to asthma medication. The Smartinhaler performed better than parental recall, and therefore may be an important tool in assisting parents to assist their children in medication adherence.
Authors' recommendations: HealthPACT has recommended that further assessment of this technology is no longer warranted.
