Authors' objectives:

The main aim is to devise a guide that will assist in decisions on whether to introduce new genetic tests in the care supply of healthcare Centres within the National Health System (GEN Guide).

This aim has been summed up in the following specific objectives:

1. To devise a preliminary version of the GEN GUIDE. 2. To identify opportunities for improvement in the preliminary version of the GEN Guide through expert consultation. 3. To draw up the final version of the GEN Guide which will include any necessary improvements that have been pinpointed.

Authors' recommendations: The final version of the "Guide for decision making on the introduction of new genetic tests in the National Health System" (GEN GUIDE) has been drawn up. This version includes a paper format (in Spanish and English) and an online electronic format.
