Low-field extremity magnetic resonance imaging for management of rheumatologic disorders

Authors' objectives:

Low-field dedicated extremity magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been used to examine the internal structure of joints of the extremities in patients with rheumatologic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis. Musculoskeletal imaging is used to guide clinical management of such disorders, which includes differential diagnosis, early detection of tissue and joint changes, and monitoring of disease activity and disease progression.
