Cryoablation for treatment of breast fibroadenomas

Authors' objectives:
The use of ultrasonographically guided cryoablation for the destruction of biopsy-proven breast fibroadenomas is intended as a minimally invasive alternative to open surgical excision and is performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. During cryoablation, percutaneously inserted cryoprobes and ultracold temperatures are used to freeze and destroy abnormal tissues.
