Authors' recommendations:
For the time being, the use of OP-1 in lumbar fusion surgery does not provide conclusive outcomes in terms of efficacy and safety that would recommend its use in this procedure in place of autograft.
There is insufficient evidence to support its use as an alternative to autologous graft in patients with diseases requiring lumbar surgery.
