Authors' objectives:
Three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound (US) is used to view extrafetal and maternal structures, as well as to obtain 3D surface views, cross-sectional views in any plane, and internal views of a fetus in utero. Information obtained from detailed images of extrafetal or maternal structures could be used to predict preterm delivery or aid in evaluation of pregnancy status.
