Authors' objectives:

Vertebral artery (VA) stent angioplasty is intended to reduce stenosis of VAs in patients who have symptoms of ischemia and stroke despite maximum medical anticoagulation therapy. Stent angioplasty is intended to be a procedure that is less invasive than surgery, but more durable than balloon angioplasty alone.
