Authors' objectives:
Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) is a therapy that combines the biological effects of a psoralen compound and ultraviolet light for treatment of patients with early and advanced cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). ECP involves extracorporeal exposure of leukocyte-enriched blood to the therapeutic agents, followed by reinfusion, with the goal of producing an immune response that will destroy peripheral and cutaneous tumorogenic T cells.
