Authors' objectives:

The purpose of chronic intermittent intravenous insulin therapy (CIIIT) is to reduce symptoms, improve glycemic control, and prevent diabetic sequelae in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus who do not respond adequately to conventional percutaneous intensive insulin therapy (IIT). CIIIT is not intended to replace IIT but rather to supplement it.
