Air displacement plethysmography for the measurement of body composition
Record ID 32006000981
English
Authors' objectives:
An individual's body composition can be determined using a form of plethysmography termed air displacement plethysmography (ADP). In ADP, the patient is enclosed in a chamber with a fixed air volume and the subsequent reduction in chamber volume is measured to obtain the patient's body volume; calculations are then made to determine body density and percentage of body fat (%BF).
