Authors' results and conclusions: The association between pulse wave velocity and aortic stiffness as a predictor for risk of cardiovascular disease appears to be well established, however there is limited, poor quality evidence concerning the validation of the PulseTrace device to measure aortic stiffness.
Authors' recommendations: Based on the potential clinical need and the ease of operation of the device, it is recommended that this technology be monitored.
