Computed tomography angiography for acute ischemic stroke

Record ID 32006000093
English
Authors' objectives:

Computed tomography angiography (CTA) involves injection of a contrast agent to enhance visualization of vessels during computed tomography (CT) scanning. Although patients presenting with an acute stroke are generally initially evaluated with unenhanced CT scanning to distinguish ischemic from hemorrhagic causes, CTA may be used to visualize the cerebral vessels in detail and to identify the site of vessel occlusion in patients with ischemic stroke.
