English
Authors' objectives:

Anesthesia awareness (AA) is a condition that occurs when a patient under general anesthesia becomes aware of some or all events during surgery or a procedure and has direct recall of those events. Bispectral index (BIS) monitoring technology utilizes electroencephalography to assess the depth of anesthesia. The goal of BIS monitoring is to decrease the incidence of AA and promote proper anesthetic dosing by monitoring depth of anesthesia and identifying conscious state.
