Fetal telemonitoring (FTM)

Pazart L H, Durieux P
Record ID 31995000086
French
Authors' objectives:

To determine the efficacy and safety of FTM based on a decreased hospital admission rate for a quality of surveillance identical to that achieved in hospital.

Authors' results and conclusions: Insufficient data are available to assess the value of this technique. Randomized controlled trails must be conducted.
Authors' recommendations: FTM raises problems of quality of transmission, confidentiality and questions concerning the sharing of responsibilities between the patient and nursing staff. The widespread use of FTM cannot be considered without prior evaluation of its efficacy and safety according to a clinical experimental protocol combined with economic analysis. Other output or dissemination activity: Not covered by health insurers.
Authors' methods: Systematic review
