The objective of this Assessment is to update the prior TEC Assessment (2002; Vol. 17, No. 10). This Assessment analyzes outcomes of using an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to prevent morbidity and mortality associated with ventricular tachyarrhythmia.
