Authors' objectives:

Robotically assisted prostatectomy, also referred to as robot-assisted or robotic-assisted prostatectomy, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed from a computerized workstation, where the surgeon views the operative field through a specialized camera arrangement, and manipulates robotic arms to hold and position an endoscope and to grasp, cut, dissect, cauterize, and suture tissue via hand controls and foot switches. Robotic-assisted LRP has been proposed as an alternative to conventional open or laparoscopic radical prostatectomy as a definitive treatment for clinically localized prostate cancer.
