High-frequency chest wall compression for cystic fibrosis
Record ID 32005000034
English
Authors' objectives:
High-frequency chest compression is a mechanical form of chest physiotherapy used as an alternative to conventional chest physical therapy in patients with an impairment of the ability to clear pulmonary secretions. The purpose of chest physiotherapy is to enhance and promote effective airway clearance and pulmonary function. It is hypothesized that high-frequency chest compression provides assistance with mucociliary clearance by altering airflow patterns and reducing sputum viscosity.
