Authors' objectives:

The goals of endovascular repair (EVR) of a thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA), a minimally invasive alternative to thoracotomy, are to prevent aneurysm enlargement and rupture by excluding the aneurysm from the arterial circulation. During EVR, a prosthetic endograft is passed via radiographic guidance through the femoral artery to the aneurysmal sac where it is deployed and attached to the normal aorta with a self-expandable stent system.
