Authors' objectives:

The goals of endovascular repair (EVR) of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), a minimally invasive alternative to open abdominal surgery, are to prevent aneurysm enlargement and rupture by excluding the AAA from the arterial circulation. During EVR, a prosthetic endograft is passed via radiographic guidance through the femoral artery to the aneurysm sac where it is deployed and attached to the normal aorta with an expandable stent system.
