Original Title: Evaluación del colágeno tipo I inyectable empleado en el contexto de la técnica AMIC/ACIC realizada por artroscopia
Authors' objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of injectable type I collagen used in AMIC/ACIC arthroscopic procedures, as well as its economic, ethical, legal, organizational, social, and environmental implications.
Authors' results and conclusions: Conclusions • The evidence is very uncertain regarding the efficacy and safety of injectable type I collagen compared with standard techniques for the treatment of articular cartilage lesions. • The cost-effectiveness of using injectable type I collagen compared with the current technologies of choice for these indications is unknown.
Authors' methods: A systematic review of the scientific literature was conducted to assess the effectiveness, safety, and cost-efficiency of this technology. Study inclusion followed the PICO criteria: - Population: Adults (individuals over 18 years old) with chondral lesions eligible for AMIC/ACIC treatment - Intervention: Injectable type I collagen used in the context of AMIC/ACIC arthroscopy - Comparator: AMIC/ACIC using other devices - Outcomes: Change in symptom intensity at short, medium, and long term, measured using specific scales (such as variations in pain intensity or morphological changes in the lesion); changes in quality of life; need for revision surgery; conversion to total joint arthroplasty; adverse events or complications; and outcomes related to economic, ethical, legal, organizational, social, and environmental aspects. Risk of bias and quality of evidence were assessed using the RoB 2, MINORS and EPOC tools. A qualitative synthesis of the results was performed.
