Authors' objectives:

The clinical diagnosis of congestive heart failure (CHF) can be difficult since its symptoms are similar to those of other cardiopulmonary diseases. The Triage BNP Test is a rapid, point-of-care test that measures blood levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), a protein related to cardiac dysfunction. The BNP test is used in conjunction with standard tests to determine whether or not a patient is likely to have CHF so that appropriate and timely treatment can be initiated.
