WorkSafeBC Evidence-Based Practice Group, Martin CW
Record ID 32018015237
English
Authors' objectives:
To determine whether there is any evidence on the efficacy/effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating post-fracture ankle pain.
Authors' results and conclusions:
No published study was identified from searches on PRP to treat post-fracture ankle pain and on searches on PRP to treat post-fracture pain. One published study was identified from searches on the application of PRP in any post-fracture condition and 40 published studies were identified from searches on PRP to treat ankle pain. Examination of the titles and abstracts of these 41 published studies did not provide any relevant data to the objective of this systematic review. At present, there is no data reporting the efficacy/effectiveness of PRP to treat post fracture ankle pain, post-fracture pain, any other post-fracture condition as well as any ankle pain.
Authors' methods:
A comprehensive and systematic literature search was conducted on July 21, 2025. The search was done on commercial medical literature databases where a combination of key words was employed in this search. No limitation, such as on the language or date of publication, was implemented in any of these searches. A manual search, on the references for the article retrieved in full, was planned.
