Authors' objectives:

Ancillary urine tests detect different substances that are associated with tumors such as tumor antigens, cellular proteins, and DNA abnormalities. The test results are used in conjunction with cystoscopy, the current standard diagnostic procedure for bladder cancer, for the early detection of bladder cancer in patients: (1) who present with clinical signs and symptoms; (2) who are at high risk to develop bladder cancer; or (3) who require monitoring for bladder cancer recurrence after surgery.
