Authors' objectives:

Quantitative in vitro allergy testing of serum is proposed for patients with suspected allergic rhinitis. The quantitative in vitro allergy test is an assay that measures allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) in human serum for the purpose of ruling in or ruling out atopy in patients with allergy-like symptoms. The test is intended for in vitro diagnostic use as an aid in the clinical diagnosis of IgE-mediated allergic disorders in conjunction with other clinical findings.
