Original Title:
Algorithme de prise en charge du syndrome de douleur régionale complexe (SDRC)
Authors' objectives:
Algorithms for managing chronic pain have been developed by interdisciplinary teams at
four centres of expertise in chronic pain management associated with the Réseaux
universitaires intégrés de santé et de services sociaux (RUISSS) and published on the
website of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS). At the request of
the MSSS, the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS)
has updated the algorithm for managing CRPS published in 2015.
Authors' methods:
For this work, a rapid review of best clinical practices for the management of CRPS was
conducted using publications indexed in bibliographic databases as well as other
information sources. To gather stakeholder perspectives, an advisory committee was
established, composed of clinicians from various specialties and areas of expertise, along
with patient partners. The clinical recommendations developed are based on an appraisal
of the literature, stakeholder input, and contextual factors specific to Québec. Finally, the
overall quality, acceptability, and applicability of the work were assessed by external
reviewers who are experts in the field, as well as by future users who were not involved in
the development process.
