English
Authors' objectives: To determine whether there is any evidence on the efficacy/effectiveness of red-light therapy in treating/part of treatment modality on (Achilles) tendon rupture.
Authors' results and conclusions: No published study was identified when we searched for the application of red light to treat Achilles tendon rupture. We then expanded our search to include any tendon rupture. Two hundred fifty-nine published studies were identified from this expanded search. However, upon examination on the titles and abstracts of these 259 studies, none was relevant to the objective of this systematic review. At present, there is no study reporting the efficacy/effectiveness of red-light therapy in treating/part of treatment for (Achilles) tendon rupture.
Authors' methods: A comprehensive and systematic literature search was conducted on May 28, 2025. The search was done on commercial medical literature databases where a combination of key words was employed in this search. No limitation, such as on the language or date of publication, was implemented in any of these searches. A manual search, on the references of the article retrieved in full, was planned.
