Authors' objectives: To determine whether there is any evidence related to best practices in preventing psychological injuries among front line community support workers.
Authors' results and conclusions: Of the 25 documents retrieved in full, no relevant studies, information, or data were available. Therefore, none of these documents provided any information on the prevention methods implemented in preventing psychological injuries in these occupations nor any of these studies provided information on the typical psychological diagnosis occurred in these occupations. At present, there is no published study reporting on the efficacy/effectiveness of certain program to prevent psychological injury in the listed occupations above.
Authors' methods: A comprehensive and systematic literature search was conducted. The first, more specific, search was conducted on October 29, 2024; the second, broader, search was conducted on November 12, 2024, and the third search, on non-commercial occupational health and safety websites and database, was conducted on November 14, 2024. A combination of keywords were implemented in these searches. Due to the limitations on the search function available on the non-commercial websites/database, we simplified the third search by employing the keywords “psychological injury”. No limitation, such as on the language and year of publication, was implemented in any of these searches. A manual search was also conducted on the references of the articles that were retrieved in full.
