Original Title: Robotassistert hysterektomi ved benigne indikasjoner
Authors' results and conclusions: Key message A Cochrane review from 2019 compared robot-assisted hysterectomy with laparoscopic and open hysterectomy for benign indications. In this report, we present the results from the Cochrane review. The Cochrane review included six randomized studies conducted in the USA, Sweden, and Switzerland between 2010 and 2017. Five studies compared robot-assisted surgery with laparoscopy, and one compared robot-assisted surgery with open surgery. The authors found that robot-assisted surgery, compared to laparoscopy, may result in: Small or no differences in intra- and postoperative complications Small or no difference in blood loss Small or no difference in conversion to open surgery Based on available evidence, the authors could not determine whether robot-assisted hysterectomy affected operating time and length of hospital stay compared to laparoscopy. There was insufficient evidence to assess the effect of robot-assisted hysterectomy compared to open hysterectomy.
