Authors' objectives:

This report aims to assess the purchase of a video-enteroscope by the Saint-Louis Hospital.

Authors' recommendations: Enteroscopy is a recognised technique used in the diagnosis of unexplained digestive haemorrhage and anaemia. It has not undergone any significant progress since 1995. The AP-HP already has four enteroscopes (3 of which are on loan from manufacturers) and current demand from clinical teams seems to be satisfied within acceptable waiting times. At the present state of knowledge, the CEDIT therefore considers that the provision of this technique should remain limited and that the instruments already in use are able to meet current needs.
