External counterpulsation for treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris

Authors' objectives:

The purpose of this current Assessment is to determine whether treatment with external counterpulsation (ECP) as an adjunct to medical management improves health outcomes: for patients with disabling chronic stable angina due to coronary artery disease for whom surgery is not recommended or for whom surgery has failed; and for patients with disabling chronic stable angina for whom revascularization procedures may be indicated.
