Authors' objectives:
To evaluate the possible advantages of an automated injector for the injection of contrast media for MRI.
Authors' recommendations:
The data available demonstrate that the automatic contrast medium injector combined with the most recent MRI scanners constitutes a definite technical advance. CEDIT does not recommend that an evaluation of the device be carried out since its medical value has already been demonstrated. However, it does recommend that the Spectris and its consumables be compared with competitor systems that will shortly be available on the market.
