Original Title:
Terapia de integración auditiva en trastorno del espectro autista
Authors' recommendations:
Very-low-quality evidence does not allow to draw conclusions on the effectiveness and safety of auditory integration therapy (including the Tomatis method) in patients with autism spectrum disorders.
None of the clinical practice guidelines surveyed recommend the use of auditory integration therapy in patients with autism spectrum disorders given low level of evidence, most agreeing that this therapy should be considered experimental. The Argentine Consensus for the Diagnosis and Treatment of People with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) does not mention this procedure.
None of the United States, European or Latin-American funders covers auditory integration therapy in patients with autism spectrum disorders.
No economic evaluations have been found assessing the impact of this technology in Argentina.
