Authors' objectives:
This systematic review of the literature aims to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the Hybrid Capture-II human papillomavirus DNA test in women with equivocal results following routine cervical screening.
Authors' recommendations:
Since there is currently insufficient evidence pertaining to the use of the human papillomavirus Hybrid Capture-II test for triaging of women with equivocal cervical screening results, the MSAC recommends that public funding should not be supported at this time for the use of this diagnostic procedure.
