WorkSafeBC Evidence-Based Practice Group, Martin CW
Record ID 32018002738
English
Authors' objectives:
To determine whether there is any evidence to support the efficacy and/or effectiveness of fat grafting, either through dermis fat graft or liposuction harvesting, for nerve padding in the wrist or forearm area.
Authors' results and conclusions:
Overall, there were 145 published studies identified through these literature searches. Upon examination of the titles and abstracts of these 145 published studies, none were thought to be relevant to the objectives of this systematic review. Hence, to date, no study is available for determining the efficacy and/or effectiveness of fat grafting for nerve padding in any bodily location nor is there any study discussing the role of nerve padding in the wrist or forearm area.
Authors' methods:
A comprehensive and systematic literature search was conducted on commercial medical literature databases on April 20, 2022. No limitations, such as on the language or date of publication, were implemented in any of these searches. For any articles retrieved in full, manual searches on the references of these articles were conducted.
