Original Title:
Resección endoscópica de espesor total para lesiones colorrectales
Authors' recommendations:
Very-low quality evidence from observational studies with no control group does not allow to draw conclusions on the benefits and risks of endoscopic full-thickness resection using the FTRD® system for non-lifting or difficult-to-reach colorectal lesions.
The practice guidelines from the United States gastroenterology societies mention that more studies are needed to establish the indications and safety of this novel technology. Other clinical practice guidelines surveyed do mention this technology.
The United Kingdom health system (the only health coverage policy mentioning this technology), does not cover full-thickness resection using the FTRD® system since its safety is uncertain and the evidence on its efficacy is inadequate both in terms of quality and quantity.
The local cost-effectiveness of this technology is unknown.
