Original Title: Paneles genéticos (Target NGS) en tumores de origen desconocido
Authors' recommendations: Moderate-quality evidence suggests that in patients with metastatic cancer of unknown origin, determining the probable primary site through molecular profiling and later treatment selection would not result in a significant improvement in overall survival, progression-free survival or response rate when compared with the use of empirical chemotherapy. There is consensus among the clinical practice guidelines from the main international societies and different funders consulted on not covering its use as standard of care for this group of patients. No cost-effectiveness or budget impact studies have been found in Latin America.
