Original Title: Terapia con células madre de médula ósea en patología ortopédica
Authors' recommendations: CONCLUSIONS Very low-quality evidence does not allow drawing conclusions on the efficacy and safety of bone marrow stem cell therapy in patients with orthopedic conditions. The clinical practice guidelines consulted from different international scientific societies, for different orthopedic conditions, do not consider the use of bone marrow stem cells as a treatment alternative and some of them mention that it should only be used in clinical trials registered and approved by an Ethics Committee and that the clinical effectiveness and safety of stem cell therapies have not been scientifically proven yet. None of the sponsors consulted cover the treatment with bone marrow stem cell concentrate therapy in patients with an orthopedic condition.
