Tomografía por emisión de positrones (PET) en el seguimiento rutinario de neoplasias seleccionadas
Authors' recommendations:
CONCLUSIONS
Good-quality evidence was not found on the routine use of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in the follow-up of cancer patients (breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, or cervix) who have completed primary curative therapy and do not present signs or symptoms suggestive of recurrence or metastasis.
There is consensus among the clinical practice guidelines, expert recommendations and private and public sponsors, both from Latin America and high-income countries, on not covering routine PET use among the technologies used for patient follow-up.
