Original Title: Valle de vancomicina para monitoreo terapéutico
Authors' recommendations: CONCLUSIONS Moderate-quality evidence suggests that testing vancomycin trough concentration in serum is the most adequate and practical method to guide vancomycin therapy. Its therapeutic monitoring would be associated to higher rates of therapeutic efficacy and lower rates of nephrotoxicity. The clinical practice guidelines consulted agree on the importance of testing it, although there is no consensus on performing it routinely or on its testing frequency. No coverage policies on vancomycin trough testing have been found in the public and private health sponsors consulted.
